Sleeveless in San Diego

There she was waiting for her prince atop the Empire State Building.  Backdrop, the NYC skyline.  Doesn't get any better for us hopeless romantics.   It was 1993 and Meg Ryan was America's sweetheart.

That's her on the left displaying her fabulous arms.

Cut to 2011..........you've seen them around town.  Those shameless ladies baring their impossibly toned arms.    And yet, the Closet Rapture duo felt we needed to give them equal time after the previous blog.   And so, in deference to the deltoid divas.......

Nautical looks always seem to come back in style.  They certainly are all the rage now.  This dress is particularly slimming to the torso and hips with its clever navy panel along the sides.

Hello!  Yes, I've arrived.  Such a classic cut and the color is wow!  The floral flourish is just the right touch of the unexpected.  Plan on heads turning your way.

Nudes and soft pastels are very hot right now and why not?  There is a softness about them that whispers "Femininity rules".

And so whichever you choose be it classic, nautical, or nude, go forth and be fabulous this spring.
We'll be watching...

Almost Sleeveless

Remember Kate Hudson in Almost Famous?  She was effervescent, funny, beautiful, her onscreen presence pretty much stole the show.....

Sleeveless is so sexy but maybe you started your workout regimen late in January and need to cheat.....just a tad.  Your arms may not be quite ready to be put on display.  No problem.  Just because your arms are not fully exposed doesn’t mean you can’t still be alluring.....

The following three dresses will work for most of your spring functions and here is why:

This dress is a gorgeous shade.  Notice the tiny cap sleeve.  Just enough to hide upper arms that are not quite ready for prime time.  The not too plunging  v-neckline is also universally flattering.  Ruching at the waist is a God send for us ‘apples’.

There is something very zen about this dress.  The square neckline really plays up the beautiful bones of the clavicle.  Love the tiny cap sleeves that put the upper arms into the shadows.  Satin is so luxurious and skims over our womanly curves.

Ahhhhh color.  A standout and yet subtle all rolled into one flattering dress.  Although the model is sporting a bright chunky necklace, something a bit more refined in silver or gold would also work.  As could a fun chunky neutral piece with metal and maybe pearls or crystals.

Just one do and don’t :
Do stay away from white at a daytime wedding.  Never compete with a bride.
And be more imaginative than to wear black at a wedding or any springtime affair, unless it’s black tie.
Skip the black uniform... at least until September.
